If you are going to paint Georgian Bay, it helps to get your feet wet.

Spending time in the landscape is an important part of my process. I like working with watercolours because it is an interactive medium, that responds in real-time to changes in water flow and temperature. It makes it an exciting and challenging medium to work with, particularly when painting outdoors.

Samantha Reimer is a watercolour artist based in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. Her paintings are expressive interpretations of local landscapes and shoreline scenes of Georgian Bay and Muskoka. With a background in fine art landscape photography, Samantha discovered an interest in painting with watercolour four years ago and continues to develop her skills in the medium by attending workshops and participating in juried group exhibitions and studio tours in the area.
